After the success of the February Business Fives tournament held in Edinburgh in which NCM were narrowly beaten in the semi-finals, this automatically qualified them to compete in the national finals in Glasgow where all the best teams from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Tayside and Aberdeen battled it out to be crowned champions.

From the outset it was clear to see the quality of the teams was exceptionally high. NCM got off to a great start by winning the first game, however, were unable to continue this into the next few games as they became unstuck against some high-quality opposition, including the eventual winners. After two victories and a loss, NCM made it through to the final against Dickson Minto and after a closely fought game it eventually ended a draw which meant sudden death penalties. After a few penalty misses from both teams it was eventually agony for NCM as they missed the decisive penalty. Despite the disappointing outcome the NCM team had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon all in aid of a great cause and enjoyed a couple of well-earned drinks afterwards (responsibly). Until next time…
